Annenberg grant drives diversity
A $5 million grant will fund a long-term USC Annenberg initiative to support students and young professionals from communities underrepresented in the news industry.
As World AIDS Day is marked, Los Angeles County has one of the largest infected populations in the nation. USC researchers have had a hand in reducing infections, finding new treatments and addressing social and political issues associated with disease.
Clay Helton, who as interim head coach guided the Trojan football team to a berth in this weekend’s Pac-12 Championship Came, has been named the Trojans’ permanent head coach. Tickets are still available for Saturday’s game in Santa Clara.
By learning the intricacies of successful grant writing, they’re finding new and creative ways to help the USC Wrigley Marine Science Center on Catalina Island and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
