The Keck School of Medicine of USC has marked its most successful year of fundraising since 2011, raising almost $200 million for education, research and patient care.
You might have taken some time to relax this summer, but the crews working on USC Village sure haven’t. Take a look at the latest flyover video of the $650 million project, slated to open in the fall of 2017.
“We want to brainwash kids early,” says Myles Cockburn, professor of preventive medicine at the Keck School of Medicine. Fourth- to sixth-graders, it seems, are at the perfect age to learn about sun safety — lessons that could help cut California’s alarming high melanoma rate.
USC joins in as the Special Olympics World Games get off to a roaring start at the Coliseum. The university is housing more than 6,300 athletes and providing key competition venues for the games, the largest single athletic event in LA since the 1984 Olympics.
