California State Science Fair

The California State Science Fair is the final science fair of the academic year for students throughout the State of California in grades 6 - 12, serving California's future scientists since 1952. It is hosted by the California Science Center (formerly, the California Museum of Science and Industry).

The 57th annual California State Science Fair will be held on May 19-20, 2008. That's only 10 days away! This year we expect nearly 1000 participants from 400 schools throughout the State to meet in competition for awards totaling over $50,000.

We are deeply grateful to our Presenting Benefactor, the Northrop Grumman Foundation, for providing essential funding to make possible the 2008 California State Science Fair. Special thanks also go to THE MUSES of the California Science Center Foundation and to ITT Corporation for their generous donations and volunteer efforts.

Latest News from the Fair:

Category Assignments Announced (May 9): All projects have now been assigned to specific categories at the Fair. See also the list of judging panels and page 11 of the Application Packet.
Registration Problems: Make sure that your registration materials are ready for you at the Fair. Students on this list are still missing one or more components.
Student Application Process: This process remains available only for missing team members and others who have been specifically informed by CSSF to submit their applications at this late date.
Judge Registration Process: Registration for all qualified scientists and engineers who wish to judge at the 2008 Fair
Changes for the 2008 Fair: Location changed to the Sports Arena, and other news.
