California State Science Fair

The California State Science Fair is the final science fair of the academic year for students throughout the State of California in grades 6 - 12, serving California's future scientists since 1952. It is hosted by the California Science Center (formerly, the California Museum of Science and Industry).

The 61st annual California State Science Fair will be held in the California Science Center on April 30 - May 1, 2012. That's only 81 days away! This year we expect approximately 950 participants from nearly 400 schools throughout the State to meet in competition for awards totaling $50,000.

2012 Fair Dates (September 8): The dates for the 2012 California State Science Fair have been announced today as Monday-Tuesday, April 30 - May 1, 2012. All affiliated fairs have been informed of this determination today.
More Photographs from 2011 Continue to be Posted: Photographs from the Judging Interview Period are being added incrementally to the web site. Earlier, all student portraits and all awards were posted.
Judging Results (May 3): All judging results including Major Fair Awards, Category Awards, and Special and Recognition Awards are available.
Also available in a single Excel or PDF file for convenient searching.
Judge Registration Process: For all qualified scientists and engineers who wish to judge at the 2012 Fair.
