Judge Registration System Restored

Returning judges and anyone qualified to be a judge who wishes to serve in the 2012 California State Science Fair may now update their record or register for the first time. However, we are not yet accepting volunteers for specific panel assignments. That will come in March.

Student Application System Open

Early Application Deadlines Delayed

Owing to the late opening of the Student Application System, students whose Submission Deadlines had earlier been announced to be March 19 or 20 have been delayed to March 22. This applies to the following affiliated fairs: Monterey, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Barbara, and Sonoma.

Student Application System Temporarily Unavailable

An unscheduled network outage is currently affecting the building housing the CSSF database, rendering the Student Application System unavailable. This condition may continue until 8 am on Monday. Updates will be posted here.

Student Application System Restored

The network outage cutting off the CSSF database has been corrected more quickly than expected. The Student Application System is once again connected and accepting applications.

Judge Application System Open for Panel Selections

The Judge Registration System, which for the past several months has been available for new and returning judges only to update their contact information, is now open for judges to select judging panels and other positions. Judges are requested to make their selections no later than April 11.

Participant Acceptances Announced

Decisions on all applications have now been announced. All students have received notification via email of their acceptance status for the 2012 Fair. Acceptance does not mean that all required materials have been received. Notice of missing items is presented at the above link.

Confirmation Letters Mailed

Confirmation letters to all accepted students were put into the US Mail this afternoon. This mailing includes our "Yellow Sheet" which must be checked for accuracy, signed, and delivered to the Registration Table on Monday, April 30, in order to collect your registration materials.

Category Assignments Announced

The assignments of all projects into the categories in which they will be judged have now been announced. A large majority of all assignments were into the categories requested by the students, but a significant minority were moved by the Project Abstract Review Committee after careful reading of the submitted Project Summary. Students can find their own assignment most readily on this page. Requests for reconsideration of any assignment must be made by Thursday, April 26.

The finalists for the Science Fair Teacher of the Year Awards have been selected: Jacob Bagnell, April Tucker, Jane Willoughby, Anita Pisciotta, Cindy Ligeti, Marilyn Reed, and Christina Fisher.

All Special and Recognition Awards photos are now posted. This completes the set of photos of all awards presented at the Fair, whether during the Awards Ceremony or during the judging. Many more photos are in process and will be posted shortly.

All Fair Award Checks Mailed Today

All Fair award checks were placed into the mail today. This includes all awards (Major Fair Awards, category awards, and anonymous Special Awards). Checks for refunds were mailed earlier. Checks for Special and Recognition Awards come directly from the sponsor but should have been received by now. Please let us know if any above check is not received within a week or so.
