Students, Judges, and Volunteers

The 2014 California State Science Fair will be held in the California Science Center, with project display areas and judge meeting areas spanning two buildings. Registration for all students, judges, and volunteers will be located at the south entrance as shown on the map below. The California Science Center is located in Exposition Park, four miles south of downtown Los Angeles.

Freeway Directions

From the north using the 5 (Golden State Fwy):

Take the 5 south to the 110 (Pasadena Fwy) south which becomes the 110 (Harbor Fwy) south through downtown LA and continue for another four miles.

From the north using the 101 (Ventura Fwy):

Take the 101 south to the 110 (Harbor Fwy) south through downtown LA and continue for another four miles. Exit at Exposition Blvd. using the left lane of the off-ramp.

From the west:

Take the 10 (Santa Monica Fwy) east to the 110 (Harbor Fwy) south, which you take for about 1 mile to Exposition Blvd. using the left lane of the off-ramp.

From the east:

Take the 60 (Pomona Fwy) west or the 10 (San Bernardino Fwy) west to the 10 (Santa Monica Fwy) west . Continue west to the 110 (Harbor Fwy) south, which you should take for about 1 mile to Exposition Blvd. using the left lane of the off-ramp.


CSSF

From the south using the 405 (San Diego Fwy):

Take the 405 north to the 110 (Harbor Fwy) north to Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., which is just before the 10 (Santa Monica Fwy). Exit on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. going west (turn left).

From the south using the 5 (Santa Ana Fwy):

Take the 5 north to the 10 (Santa Monica Fwy) west, until you reach the 110 (Harbor Fwy) south which you take for 1 mile to Exposition Blvd. using the left lane of the off-ramp.

Students Judges Volunteers
On Monday, Registration will be in front of the doors at the south entrance to the Science Center under the large circular Rotunda visible on the map. If your project includes heavy components, please bring your own dollies or other transportation. On Tuesday, park in the same place. Parking is $10 per car on Monday and $10 on Tuesday with full in-and-out privileges during each day. On Tuesday, category award judge registration materials will be picked up under the Rotunda in front of the doors at the south entrance to the Science Center. You will then be directed into the IMAX Theatre for your complimentary breakfast and the 7:30 Judges Meeting, followed by individual panel meetings where you will find your fellow panel members. You will receive a parking pass about a week in advance of the Fair from the Directors of Judging. Both days after parking, proceed to the volunteer's Command Center, which is just inside the south entrance to the Science Center. You will receive a parking pass for each day you are serving from the Volunteer Coordinator.
