| CSSF Qualification Issues: |
1. The authority for qualifying students from Solano county is divided along geographical lines, not county boundaries. The Sacramento Regional Science & Engineering Fair is authorized to qualify to CSSF students attending schools in communities in northern Solano County. See the San Francisco Bay Area Science Fair for its area of authority. Further, this authority to qualify Solano County students is in transition and will not be continued beyond 2013. Beginning in 2014, all Solano County students who wish to qualify to participate in CSSF must do so through the Solano County Science Fair. Solano County students will continue to be able to participate in SARSEF for the opportunities there, such as possible qualification to ISEF, but will simply not be eligible to qualify to CSSF there. Again, this policy will be enforced beginning next year, 2014.
2. Students attending schools in San Joaquin County cannot qualify to CSSF through the Sacramento Regional Science & Engineering Fair, though they are eligible to participate in SRSEF for the many other opportunities offered there, including the opportunity to qualify to the International Science & Engineering Fair. Students in San Joaquin County may qualify to CSSF through the San Joaquin County Science Fair. 3. Students attending schools in Placer County cannot qualify to CSSF through the Sacramento Regional Science & Engineering Fair, though they are eligible to participate in SRSEF for the many other opportunities offered there, including the opportunity to qualify to the International Science & Engineering Fair. Students in Placer County may qualify to CSSF through the Placer County STEM Expo. |
