Dean, USC Leventhal School of Accounting

Randolph Beatty was appointed dean and holder of the Alan Casden Dean’s Chair at the USC Leventhal School of Accounting in August 2001.

Beatty’s areas of expertise are in initial public offerings, reputation formation and private-firm valuation. He is a member of the American Accounting Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Finance Association and Financial Executives Institute. As dean, he is focused on encouraging students to broaden their horizons in a business that is filled with opportunities.

Before coming to USC in 2001, Beatty was distinguished professor of accounting for nine years at the Edwin L. Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He began his teaching career while still a graduate student at the University of Illinois. He also taught at the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business and at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.
