Brenda Barnes President, USC Radio

Brenda Barnes was appointed general manager of KUSC in November 1997, and became president of USC Radio in 2001.

She is responsible for all aspects of managing KUSC, with special emphasis on fund raising, relationships with arts organizations, and strategic planning.

She has served on the board of directors of National Public Radio, the Station Resource Group, the Development Exchange, and Eastern Public Radio. Barnes currently serves as a trustee of the Los Angeles County High School of the Arts Foundation.

Prior to coming to USC, Barnes served as music director and general manager of a public radio station in Iowa; manager of WMRA in Virginia, where she developed a regional network of stations that served northwestern Virginia; and general manager of WGUC in Cincinnati.
