Martha Harris Senior Vice

Martha Harris was named senior vice president for university relations in 2001.
As senior vice president, Harris provides strategic direction and leadership for USC's outreach and reputation through the work of government relations; civic and community relations; alumni relations; public relations and media; health sciences public relations and marketing; and protocol, events and cultural relations. She oversees the strategic development of USC Radio (Classical KUSC 91.5 FM) and staffs the Public Affairs and Alumni Affairs committees of the USC Board of Trustees.
Harris joined USC in 1979 as director of the USC News Service. She was appointed executive director of public relations in 1982, associate vice president in 1986, and vice president for university public relations in 1998. She was president of USC Radio from 1997 to 2001.
Prior to joining USC, Harris held management positions in public relations at two of the Claremont Colleges, Pitzer and Claremont McKenna, and at Florida State University. She also served as a reporter and editor at the Spokesman Review in Spokane, Washington. She graduated from Whitworth College in Spokane, and earned an M.S. from Florida State University. She has served on the boards of the Los Angeles Conservancy and LA Arts and is currently on the executive committee of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation.
