The Institute for Scientific Information's Web of Knowledge compiles a
Highly Cited list - the most highly cited individuals within each of 21
broad subject categories for the period 1981-1999. They comprise less
than one-half of one percent of all publishing researchers.
Neuroscientist Larry W. Swanson was among the 100 most-cited scientists
