As a new faculty member, your goal is to get your teaching and scholarly career off to a good start. If you are an assistant professor on the tenure track, you want to have a plan that will lead to a successful tenure decision. You will have several sources of advice, and it is helpful to seek mentoring from a number of colleagues, both inside your department and across the university, as well as from colleagues at other institutions.
