Personal and academic success are often achieved through the guidance of others. Mentoring exists at all levels of the University, in formal relationships and more casual ones. The University recognizes the importance of mentoring with the following awards:
USC-Mellon Awards for Excellence in MentoringAward to individuals are given annually for (1) Faculty who have mentored other faculty, (2) Faculty who have mentored graduate students and students in professional programs, and (3) Faculty who have mentored undergraduate students. In addition, a "Culture of Mentoring" award is given annually to an academic unit or program that has provided exemplary mentoring to its faculty.
Provost's Mentoring AwardA faculty member is recognized annually at the Academic Honors Convocation for sustained efforts in mentoring colleagues and students.
