Faculty members sometimes face issues involving legal matters and risk management. It is useful to understand how you can minimize these risks.

• The Office of General Counsel can be a great source of legal advice.
• You may be particularly interested in seeing the document titled Tips on Keeping out of Legal Trouble and related documents that deal with:
• Sexual harassment
• Conflicts of interest in research, and ethics
• Conflict resolution
• The protection of research subjects
• Other compliance-related issues
• It is also useful for you to become familiar with offices that deal with physical safety, such as:

• Career and Protective Services - including important information about Workers' Compensation and Disability
