Career Planning and Placement Center Division of Student Affairs

The mission of the USC Career Planning & Placement Center is to provide exceptional career services to all members of the Trojan Family. The Career Planning & Placement Center is located in the Student Union Building and is your “one stop” for information on jobs and internships. It is a place where you can attend workshops, set an appointment with a career counselor or have a quick question answered during walk-in hours.

Services and Resources

Career Counseling

Counseling sessions are available by appointment for career issues such as change of major, career planning, job search strategies, networking, information interviewing, and Internet resources.

Walk-in Counseling

Brief feedback sessions on career topics (5-10 minutes) are available during Walk-in Counseling Monday-Friday from 12 to 3 p.m. You can have your resume checked, ask questions about the job search process, online resources, or any other question about your career needs. No appointment necessary!

On-Campus Interviews

This program hosts numerous employers each semester who are seeking USC graduates from all majors for full-time and internship opportunities. Those students wishing to take part should register with the Career Planning & Placement Center on the Web (http://careers.usc.edu).

Online Job Listings

Online opportunities for full-time, part-time and internship positions are available for all students registered with the Career Planning and Placement Center. Please register online at http://careers.usc.edu or drop by the CPPC any time to register between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Career Fairs

Each semester employers provide information about career opportunities in their organizations. Career Fairs take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Trousdale Parkway. Check our calendar for dates at http://careers.usc.edu.

Diversity Events and Workshops

Each semester the center presents specialized programs and workshops to prepare students for our major events as well as partnering with Asian Pacific American Student Services (APASS), the Center for Black Cultural and Student Affairs (CBCSA), El Centro Chicano, and Gay, Lesbian, Bi, Transgendered Student Support (GLBT) to connect students with alumni and employers.

Workshops throughout the semester include job search strategies, InterviewTrak, resume writing, getting an internship and selecting a major. All workshops take place in the Career Planning and Placement Center.

Internships

Our Experiential Learning Office provides students with knowledge about all types of internships and access to resources that will help identify and secure opportunities. The Career Planning & Placement Center also offers courses that provide credit for internships.

The Trojan Network

The Trojan Network provides students with an opportunity to interact with USC alumni in order to gain valuable information about targeted fields and career goals.
