For Part-Time Students
The university provides many programs and services which part-time students can take advantage of while on campus. Although most offices don?t offer extended hours on a regular basis, many departments will make some provision to help students when notified in advance. Part-time students can also use services such as email, fax machines and electronic payment to assist with the processing of materials during daytime hours. The following is a brief description of some of the services available to students who typically attend the university during evening hours or on a part-time basis.
Career Planning & Placement Center
The USC Career Planning & Placement Center (CPPC) offers job listings, career counseling, on-campus interviews, internship information, career fairs and special programs and workshops throughout the year. The center assists students in all aspects of the career development process, including resume assistance, interview techniques and connecting their academic pursuits to the world of work. Individual appointments and walk-in hours with experienced career counselors are available daily. A complete listing of the center?s services and programs is provided in this schedule. Financial Aid
If you have questions about your financial aid you may call the Financial Aid Office at (213) 740-1111. Staff members are available to assist you by phone Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You may email the Financial Aid Office at fao@usc.edu or fax documents 24-hours a day to (213) 740-0680. Financial Aid counselors are available in the JHH lobby Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Students can also access financial aid information online at www.usc.edu/finaid.
Dining
TrojanHospitality facilities that serve during evening hours include: Café ?84, Carl?s Jr., Commons Basement: La Salsa, Rice Garden and Malibu Subs, Trojan Grounds, Tutor Hall, Popovich, Everybody?s Kitchen (EVK) and Parkside Restaurant. Parking and Transportation
TrojanTransportation distributes campus maps indicating the lots and structures available for student parking during daytime and evening hours. All structures and on-campus lots are open after 5 p.m. and on weekends for students with a valid USC permit, with the exception of Lot P on 34th Street, which opens at 8 p.m. Lot 5, adjacent to the bookstore and Childs Way, is a restricted access lot. Do not park in handicapped or reserved spaces.
Recreational Sports at the Lyon Center
Recreational Sports offers a variety of sports and fitness opportunities, recreational facilities and programs for the entire USC community, including part-time students, emeriti faculty/staff, guests and USC alumni. Along with recreational facilities such as the Lyon Center and McDonalds Swim Stadium, sports programs such as intramurals, club sport teams, and fitness/aerobic classes allow students, faculty and staff to participate regardless of skill level, age, or sports interests. Student Affairs Council
The university provides advisors in each academic unit and many administrative areas to assist you with complex or persistent problems that may develop during your educational experience. Part-time and evening students may contact members of the Student Affairs Council, listed in the ?Student Services? section of the student guidebook SCampus, during daytime hours for assistance.
University Park Health Center
The University Park Health Center is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the fall and spring semesters.
