
Michael L. Jackson is vice president for student affairs and
enrollment services and holds a courtesy appointment as professor of
higher education in the Rossier School of Education. He provides
leadership for USC's comprehensive array of student life and
admission and financial aid programs. The division of student affairs
and enrollment services serves 32,000 students through the dedicated
work of 500 professional and support staff and over 400 student
employees. Jackson came to USC in 1995 from Stanford University where
he served as dean of students. He serves on accreditation teams for
the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and was
president of the National Association of Student Personnel
Administrators, the leading voice for student affairs administration,
policy, and practice in the United States with over 1,200 college and
university institutional members and 10,000 professional members. He
also serves as a trustee and member of the executive committee of the
Robert Louis Stevenson School in Pebble Beach, California. He is a
member of the California Educational Facilities Authority. He earned
his A.B. with distinction in anthropology from Stanford University
and his M.Ed. and Ed.D. in educational administration at the
University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
