Oversight Committee for Athletic Academic Affairs

The Provost's Oversight Committee for Athletic Academic Affairs (OCAAA) was created to provide faculty evaluation of the academic policies and programs the University develops for student-athletes. The Committee is charged with responsibility in the following areas:

• Review and advise on programs, operations, and policies of the Student Athlete Academic Services (SAAS).

• Review and advise on policies and practices designed to assure academic integrity in all academic-related matters for student-athletes.

• Review and advise on policies and practices designed to ensure compliance with NCAA and Pac-10 academic regulations.

• Review the academic performance of student-athletes, including progress to degree and graduation rates.

• Serve as a review board for student-athlete appeals affecting athletic eligibility.

Emily Adams, co-captain of the 2004 women's volleyball team, is a senior majoring in international relations, a consistent Dean's List student and a member of the 2003 CoSIDA Academic All-America team. As a two-time All American middle blocker, she has been integral to the Women of Troy's unprecedented success, helping lead the team to 2003's perfect 35-0 record, an NCAA-record 47-match winning streak and two national championships.
