Part One
Apply Early, and Online!
Because of the high volume of documents received by the university, you are strongly encouraged to apply well before the published deadline. To ensure that your application will be processed as quickly as possible, apply online.
- Please read carefully the instructions that accompany the application, and double-check your answers.
- You may submit the application only once. After the application has been submitted, you may not revise any information on it.
- When you are ready to submit the online application, you must pay the application fee online, using a credit card.
- Confidentiality Notice: The information on your submitted application will be made available only to the Graduate Admission Office and the admission committee of your academic department or professional school.

Request your transcripts
- Prior to enrollment in graduate studies, you must have earned a U.S. bachelor'’s degree equivalent from an accredited college or university.
- Fill out and sign the College/University Transcript Cover Page (Form 3), and send it to the registrar'’s office at each institution you have attended.
- Official transcripts are required to finalize admission to USC. Unofficial transcripts can be used for evaluation purposes, but official transcripts must be submitted prior to initial registration.
- Students who are currently enrolled in a baccalaureate program must show at least six semesters of completed work.
Request your test scores
- Most graduate programs require the General Test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Test scores that are more than five years old at the time of application may not be acceptable; for guidance, contact the department or professional school to which you are applying.
- Some programs require specialized admissions tests instead of, or in addition to, the GRE. Contact your department or school for more information.
