All first-year and transfer applicants must submit a portfolio to the School of Architecture at the time of application. Instructions are included in the USC Supplement to the Common Application.
Transfer applicants should note that placement level and the number of semesters needed to complete the studio sequence are dependent on skill level, not unit count.
Transfer applicants are required to submit one to three letters of recommendation. Letters can be submitted using the Instructor Evaluation form found in the Common Application.

USC Marshall School of Business

- World Bachelor in Business (First-Year Applicants Only)
First-year applicants who have demonstrated exceptional scholastic aptitude for the accounting or business major (based on GPA and SAT/ACT scores) will be automatically considered for admission to the Global Leadership Program.
First-year applicants to the World Bachelor in Business should provide a brief (one-paragraph) answer to each question in the Marshall School of Business section of the USC Supplement and upload a video introduction, not to exceed four minutes in length. Please refer to the USC Supplement to the Common Application for complete instructions.
Transfer applicants will be considered for admission once they have completed the prerequisite college writing and business calculus courses. (Students are also encouraged to take two semesters of accounting, and make progress toward USC’s GE and Diversity course requirements.) First-year applicants to the USC School of Cinematic Arts must submit the Common Application with the USC Supplement, as well as all additional materials (e.g. writing samples, resumes, letters of recommendation) by the December 1st deadline to be considered.
The transfer application deadline for Writing for Screen & Television is December 1st.
Transfer applicants to the Writing Program should note that the core curriculum for this program takes four full years at USC to complete.
The transfer application deadline for Animation, Critical Studies, Film & Television Production and Interactive Entertainment is February 1st.
Transfers (Film & Television Production):
Note: To be considered for admission, you must first obtain 48 transferable semester units (excluding AP & IB). These may include units in progress during the fall or spring semester.
Film and Television Production applicants must select “Film and Television Production” as their first-choice major.

In addition to the Common Application, applicants to Journalism and Public Relations must submit a one-page Statement of Intent, explaining their reasons for pursuing an education and career in journalism or public relations. Transfer applicants must submit a recommendation from a college/ university instructor or your college academic advisor with the USC application (and a Statement of Intent, if applying to Journalism or Public Relations). Letters from high school teachers or counselors will not be accepted. Letters of recommendation can be submitted using the Instructor Evaluation form found in the Common Application.
Transfer applicants must have made progress in college coursework toward satisfying the USC General Education categories and other Core requirements. USC Ostrow School of Dentistry
- Dental Hygiene (Junior Transfers Only)
A Dental Hygiene Supplemental Application is required and may be obtained by contacting the USC School of Dentistry or by visiting their website. The dental hygiene curriculum starts in the fall semester of the junior year, after program prerequisites have been completed. Students may transfer prior to the junior year to complete pre-dental hygiene requirements at USC. The application deadline is February 1.Contact

Applicants to Engineering and Computer Science majors must respond to the two short-answer questions on the USC Supplement.
Transfer applicants to engineering and computer science majors who have not completed full-time, college-level coursework must respond to one additional question on the USC Supplement.
For first-year applicants to all majors in engineering and computer science, four years of mathematics are required for admission consideration, preferably with calculus in progress or completed by senior year. Three years of natural sciences are also required.
Transfer applicants to all majors in engineering and computer science should have completed one or more semesters of college-level calculus and meet USC admission requirements. Students are encouraged to complete additional pre-engineering coursework as available.
