First-year applicants to the USC School of Cinematic Arts must submit the Common Application with the USC Writing Supplement, as well as all additional materials (e.g. writing samples, resumes, letters of recommendation) by the December 1st deadline to be considered.
The transfer application deadline for Writing for Screen & Television is December 1. Transfer applicants to the Writing Program should note that the core curriculum for this program takes four full years at USC to complete.
The transfer application deadline for Animation, Critical Studies, Film & Television Production, Interactive Entertainment and Media Arts + Practice is February 1.
Transfers (Film & Television Production):
To be considered for admission, you must first obtain 48 transferable semester units (excluding AP & IB). These may include units in progress during the fall or spring semester.
Film and Television Production applicants must select “Film and Television Production” as their first-choice major.
