General Information
Event PlanningOur Banquet and Catering Sales Office is here to assist you with any and all necessary arrangements for your event. We recommend advance reservations to ensure that the space you require will be available for you. Please contact Juanita Gomez, Sales Manager or Yesenia Fuentes, Sales Associate at 213.740.2030. Office hours are from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Please refer to our banquet and catering menus when planning your menu. We are available to help you create a menu that will satisfy any taste and fit any budget. Be sure to browse our beverages services menu as well when planning your event. Hours of OperationThe USC University Club is open for banquets and catered events Monday through Friday beginning at 7:00 AM. Weekend and after hours events are available by special arrangement. However, overtime charges will apply for evening events when classes are not in session and for weekend events. Be sure to ask us about the details if you are interested. Overtime charges will vary depending on the number of guests and the hour and length of the event. Menu Selection and PricesFor banquets and catered events with fixed price menus, final details and menu selection are required at least two weeks prior to the event. At times, menu prices may be subject to change due to market fluctuations. In the event that we find it necessary to increase a quoted price due to such a fluctuation, you will be notified of any such increases in advance to discuss your options. Up to two entree choices are available for your guests. We do require that color place cards be made available to facilitate efficient service. Final counts must be communicated to our office 3 business days prior to the event. Food and BeverageAll food and beverage must be supplied by the University Club. If you care to bring your own wine, a $8.00 per bottle corkage fee will apply as long as it is arranged with the club in advance. Also, a $2.50 per person charge will be applied for any desserts not provided by the University Club. GuaranteeAn estimated number of guests is required at the time of booking. This will ensure an appropriately sized room. In order to better serve you, we ask that you contact us within three working days with a final guaranteed number. Please note that you will be charged for the guaranteed number, even if fewer people attend. Music for Your EventWe can help you arrange music should your event call for such an enhancement. We have access to a growing list of classical and jazz soloists, trios and quartets. We also have an upright piano available for $200 per day should you like to provide your own musicians. Linen ServiceAppropriate linen service is provided with all banquet events. Extra linens are available for an additional $15.00 per tablecloth. Special order linens can be arranged upon request. DecorationsOnly decorations discussed in advance with the Catering Office are allowed in order to prevent damage to any fixtures and furnishings. All decorations must meet LAFD requirements. Items may not be attached to any stationary wall, window or ceiling. The member or sponsor will take responsibility for any damage to the banquet rooms or any other part of the club caused by their guests, invitees, independent contractors and other agents. Service Charge and Sales TaxAll events are subject to 18% service charge and current California State Sales Tax. Service Charge is automatically computed on the final food and beverage consumption. Food, beverage, service charge, and rentals are subject to the California State sales tax. Deposit, Payment and Cancellation PolicyMethod of payment must be specified at the time of each booking including account or requisition numbers. A final guaranteed number of guests will be expected 72 hours prior to the event. You will be required to pay the guaranteed amount even if fewer guests attend We reserve the right to charge for any non-reversible expenses incurred by us in arranging your event should you find it necessary for any reason to cancel within 48 hours of any scheduled event. Any event canceled less than 24 hours prior to the to the scheduled time will be responsible for 100% of the estimated charges. For outside groups who are sponsored by a University Club member, we required a 50% non-refundable advance deposit to reserve the room. The amount will be applied to the final bill. We require full payment for such events no less than 48 hours in advance. Any additional charges or refunds will be applied following the event. You will be informed of any and all charges in advance of your event. SecurityThe University Club does not assume responsibility for loss or damage to items or articles left at the club prior to, during or following a function. Accepted Methods of Payment

Rooms may be assigned based on the expected number of guests. We reserve the right to change these assignments, with notification, to rooms more suited to the number of guests and type of function. Audio Visual Equipment*The University Club provides the following equipment for rental:
*Please note that we do not supply technical support for any equipment not provided by the University Club. We can make arrangements for paid support if requested. The University Club can make arrangements for any additional equipment and rental requirements you may have. If you prefer other specialized audio visual equipment, different china, crystal glassware, or different chairs and tables, we are happy to work with you in making any arrangement with our vendors for a small surcharge. These arrangements must be made within two weeks of the scheduled event. The rules and requirements of the individual rental company will apply to you, as the customer. Offsite Catering and DeliveryThe University Club can provide off site catering for your events. Additional labor charges will apply depending on the type of event you are planning. You will be advised of any and all charges, including linen, china, glassware, food and beverage estimates, in advance of the event. The hosting member will be responsible for any damaged or missing University Club equipment for any delivered event not served by our employees. |
