Sponsored by USC Thornton School of Music

Fri, October 11, 2002 from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm

Admission: Free

Alfred Newman Recital Hall (AHF)
University Park Campus

An event featuring three outstanding vocal ensembles from the USC Thornton School of Music.

Three of Thornton’s premier choral vehicles will take to the stage for a festival of great choir music. The Thornton Chamber Choir, fresh from a highly successful tour of France, will perform under the guest direction of Thomas Somerville, Professor Emeritus at Occidental College and director of the Los Angeles Bach Festival. Jenelle Westerbeck leads the Thornton Concert Choir, the largest and most famous of the three choirs, having recently performed with Helmuth Rilling, Sergiu Comissiona, and Barbara Streisand at the 2001 Emmy Awards Show. Balancing the program is the Thornton Oriana Choir, an exclusive female vocal ensemble conducted by Seyon Park, which is scheduled to perform with the Los Angeles Philharmonic this season.
