Music of Ludwig van Beethoven, Antonin Dvorak, and USC faculty composer Erica Muhl.

The west coast premiere of Consolation, a new work by Thornton Professor Erica Muhl will be the featured work in a performance of the Thornton Chamber Orchestra. This work was recently commissioned and performed by the Cleveland Chamber Symphony. Artistic Director Yehuda Gilad will also lead the ensemble through the elegant Symphony No. 4 of Ludwig van Beethoven and Antonín Dvořák’s Piano Concerto in G minor, with faculty soloist Kevin Fitz-Gerald.

The music of Erica Muhl has gained international acclaim through performances by the Orchestra della Radio-Televisione Italiana, Orquesta Filarmonica Nacional de Venezuela, New World Symphony, Colonial Symphony, Arditti Quartet, Cuarteto de la Ciudad de Mexico and the Cuarteto Latinoamericano.

Mr. Fitz-Gerald performs frequently as a recitalist, orchestra soloist and chamber musician. Recent orchestral performances in the U.S. and Canada have included concertos by Beethoven, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Rachmaninov, Stravinsky, Berg and Poulenc.
