Hear it here first, future masterpieces by the next generation of contemporary composers.
An event dedicated to music of the 21st century, featuring innovative new chamber works freshly composed by students of the USC Thornton School of Music. This concert will premiere compositions for solo piano, string quartet and brass quintet.
Aspiring composers completing their studies at the Thornton School have the opportunity to apprentice with several of the most influential and well-known composers of modern music, including Morten Lauridsen, Stephen Hartke, Donald Crockett, Frederick Lesemann and Frank Ticheli. Under their guidance, composition students develop their creative skills, strive to define their individual compositional voice, and continue the eternal exploration of music’s expressive potential.
