Annenberg Colloquium with scholar Manuel Castells, author of The Internet Galaxy. Reflections on Internet, Business, and Society, and sociology professor at the University of California.

The USC Annenberg School for Communication welcomes Manuel Castells, Professor of Sociology and City and Regional Planning University of
California, Berkeley.

His lecture, COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY AS MATERIAL CULTURE: Internet & Autonomy Building in Network will focus on the social and economic implications of the Internet. In his research, Castells deliberately engages in a cross-cultural approach and conducts research in Europe, Latin America and Asia. Professor Castells has published 20 books, including his latest, The Internet Galaxy: Reflections on the Internet, Business, and Society. He also studies the debate on development strategies appropriate for the Information Age.
