A performance dedicated to the memory of bassoonist and teacher Stephen Maxym.

The Thornton Wind Ensemble perform works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, an arrangement for winds of Morten Lauridsen’s O Magnum Mysterium, composer-in-residence Michael Daugherty’s Rosa Parks Blvd., Igor Stravinsky’s Neoclassic Concertino and Scott Lindroth's Spin Cycle. Resident conductor Sharon Lavery will conduct Joan Tower's Fanfare for the Uncommon Woman No. 2. The concert will conclude with Thornton faculty composer Frank Ticheli's BLUE SHADES.
