Thornton Music Masters Series

Sponsored by USC Thornton School of Music

Tue, February 18, 2003 at 8:00 pm

Admission: Free

Alfred Newman Recital Hall (AHF)
University Park Campus

This collaborative performance by three of Thornton’s outstanding faculty artists features folk songs and arrangements by Benjamin Britten.

The characteristic folk song arrangements of Benjamin Britten are the inspiration behind this recital by Jonathan Mack, a regular performer with the Los Angeles Opera and faculty member at the USC Thornton School of Music. Accompanied by pianist Alan Smith and harpist JoAnn Turovsky, Mr. Mack presents a program comprised of Britten’s unique folk settings in addition to Canticle I, Canticle V and The Holy Sonnets of John Donne.
