This program is designed for clinicians who are interested in developing a collaborative asthma management service.
The goal of this seminar is to provide an update on current evidence-based and practical information that will help pharmacists and other clinicians select, monitor, and ensure optimal outcomes from asthma related drug therapy. At the end of this event, the participants will be better able to:
·Discuss the pharmacology of drugs used in the management of asthma including bronchodilators, anti-inflammatory agents.
·Recognize the changes in pathogens causing respiratory tract infections.
·List the advantages and disadvantages of various antimicrobial agents.
·Discuss strategies to optimize pharmacological therapy for patients with asthma.
·Discuss the process for the development of a comprehensive Asthma Patient Care Program.
·Identify and correct common errors and misconceptions among asthma patients.

The University of Southern California School of Pharmacy is approved by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education as a provider of continuing pharmaceutical education.
