Richard G. Sim discusses the future of Orange County and how changes could impact residents and the community.

Richard G. Sim was chairman of the Investment Properties Group for The Irvine Company, a century-old, privately-held company known for its comprehensive focus on quality-of-life in the balanced, sustainable communities it has planned and developed on the Irvine Ranch in Orange County, California. He retired in July 2001 after 20 years with The Irvine Company.

Mr.. Sim received the 1999 Citizen Leadership Award from the Council for Urban Economic Development for his role in developing Irvine Spectrum, a 5,000-acre technology center developed by The Irvine Company in the heart of Orange County, and establishing reciprocal arrangements between UCI and private business. He also was the recipient of the Irvine Valley College Foundation Award in 2000.

Mr. Sim has a bachelor of science degree in economics from Villanova University and has completed the Advanced Management Program of the Harvard University Graduate School of Business.
