Klaus Shonbach from the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands discusses the impact of television coverage on the public's political participation.

Professor Shonbach discusses his latest research, which examined the influence the media and other forms of communication had on voters in the 1999 European elections. He reveals his conclusions about the most effective ways to increase political participation among the general public.
