4th Annual Jewish Student Film Festival at USC

Honoring Jewish Student Filmmaking in Los Angeles, New York and beyond

Sponsored by Jewish Filmmakers Forum of USC Hillel and USC Casden Institute for the Study of the Jewish Role in American Life

Sun, March 2, 2003 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Admission: Free

Eileen Norris Cinema Theatre (NCT)
University Park Campus

This annual festival is a place for young Jewish filmmakers to display their talents and discuss issues pertaining to being a Jewish filmmaker.

This film festival also creates a forum where students can make long lasting relationships not only with their peers, but also with successful Jewish filmmakers in the industry.

Winning filmmakers from the New York area join the selected filmmakers, faculty, and industry members in Los Angeles for a weekend of celebration and learning.

A Q & A discussion with filmmakers and audience members will immediately follow the screenings.

Topics to discuss will include:
- What makes a film Jewish?
- Can a film be considered Jewish if the content is not Jewish?
- What is the state of Jewish filmmaking today?
- Is it different on college campuses versus Hollywood?
