Husband-and-wife co-authors Béatrice Mousli Bennett and Guy Bennett discuss their study of the interaction of French and American poetry since 1850.
The current Doheny Treasure room show and a recent New York Public Library exhibition, "Reviews of Two Worlds: French and American Literary Magazines," both grow out the Bennetts' book, Charting the Here of There: French and American Poetry in Translation 1850-2002 (Granary Press, 2002, scheduled for publication in French translation in fall 2003).
The Bennetts (he is American, she is French) will present their work and answer questions about it. Refreshments will be served.
