This discussion informs participants about how Theatre for the Oppressed is being applied to benefit communities and how interested parties can take part.
Participants can hear reports from the year that was, including reports from the core council fresh back from presenting at the Milwaukee P/TO conference, the sub-councils in Education, Politics, Therapy, Performance, Academia -- and hear about all the monthly free skills training workshops conducted over the past year, as well as reports about the play readings and performances, the Fringe Benefits workshops and conversations about activism, ethics, theatre and the law.
This is an opportunity to participate in planning the upcoming year's activities and find out how to become more actively involved in one of the most rapidly growing theatre consortiums in Los Angeles.
Discover how theatre artists can interrupt the current monologue of the hegemony regarding war, the upcoming elections, taxes, as well as local issues such as police brutality, juvenile justice, health care, racism and homophobia, to name a few.
