Celebrity health advocates, best-selling authors and leading health experts join USC faculty at the fifth annual Los Angeles Times Festival of Health & Fitness.

The largest wellness event in Southern California features 42 panels on topics ranging from integrative medicine to plastic surgery and men's and women's health. Last year’s event drew more than 61,000 guests.

As entertainers perform on outdoor stages and chefs whip up healthy concoctions, celebrities and nearly 160 health experts from USC and the Los Angeles area will discuss the latest medical breakthroughs, the newest exercise trends and chronic diseases.

Guest speakers include actors Hector Elizondo and David Hyde Pierce and authors Gotham Chopra, Susan Love and Barry Sears.

Located near Tommy Trojan, the Doctors of USC stage offers discussions on such topics as prostate and colorectal cancers; skin cancer; Parkinson’s disease and epilepsy; spine and back injuries; macular degeneration; and cardiovascular health.

The Doctors of USC exhibit features an interactive laparoscopic surgery station hosted by the USC Surgical Skills Center, a skii simulator and a LASIK surgery screening area.

Visitors can bring their medications to the exhibit, where pharmacists from the USC School of Pharmacy conduct "Brown Bag Medication Checks" to evaluate drugs for effectiveness and possible interactions.

This year’s event also includes the 11th Annual 5K Memory Walk fund-raiser benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association in Los Angeles.

There is a parking fee of $5.00.
