Curator Mary-Kay Lombino offers a slide-illustrated lecture featuring the work of the artists represented in the USC Fisher Gallery exhibition "UnNaturally."
"UnNaturally" features work by fifteen artists who employ artificial materials to create replicas of nature to explore the ways in which the boundaries between nature and culture are sometimes blurred.
With its studied verisimilitude and deadpan use of irony, the artwork suggests that the natural world can be reproduced with man-made materials just like any other mass-produced product.
A reception precedes the lecture. Attendees can enjoy a dinner on their own at the Faculty Center afterwards.
This event is presented by the USC Faculty Center and made possible through the generous support of the University Provost Office.
