Architecture: The Urban Idea

USC School of Architecture Lecture Series

Sponsored by USC School of Architecture

Wed, February 18, 2004 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Admission: Free

USC Gin D. Wong, FAIA Conference Center (HAR)
University Park Campus

Scott Johnson, FAIA, discusses his philosophy that all contemporary architectural design is, in essense, urban.

Johnson is among the few architects recognized by the general public and the design profession alike. Known as a designer of commercial, institutional and residential building projects, a number of his designs are widely published and are now local landmarks, including Fox Plaza and SunAmerica Center in Century City, the Opus One Winery in Napa Valley, the Rincon Center in San Francisco, and the new $294 million Capitol Area East End complex in Sacramento.

Johnson currently holds the position of Nancy M. and Edward D. Fox Urban Design Critic at USC School of Architecture.
