Experts explore historical, philosophical and theological dimensions of trends in religious practice in the next generation and present sociological research that documents the current religious topography.

The conference highlights models that retain religious traditions in non-reductive ways while bridging the ever-increasing religious pluralism of the contemporary world.

Among the speakers taking part in the conference are:
• Jack Miles, author of “God: A Biography” and “Christ: A Crisis in the Life of God”;
• Diane Winston, Knight Chair in Media and Religion, Annenberg School for Communication, USC;
• Ghada Osman, assistant professor of Arabic language, culture and history, San Diego State University;
• Christian Smith, Stuart Chapin Distinguished Professor, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill;
• Rabbi J. Rolando "Roly" Matalon, Congregation B'nai Jeshurun, New York; and
• Monsignor Melchor Sanchez de Toca, undersecretary of the Pontifical Council for culture.
