This hauntingly contemporized evocation of Ovid's "Metamorphoses" explores the hard, dangerous and often-ignored world of teenage runaways, weaving mythological stories and characters together with the words, feelings and actions of urban street kids.

Written by Naomi Iizuka, “Polaroid Stories” was first produced at the 1996-97 Humana Festival by the Actors Theatre of Louisville and received the 1998 PEN Center USA West Award for Drama.

Iizuka’s other plays include “Aloha,” “Say the Pretty Girls...,” “Skin” and “Tattoo Girl.”
