An angel tires of overseeing human activity and wishes to become human when he falls in love with a mortal in director Wim Wender’s award-winning film from 1987.

Among the trophies awarded to the film was an Independent Spirit Award for best foreign language film. Wender also won best director honors for the film at the Cannes Film Festival.
