Barbara Kruger's appropriated photographs and provocative text, with their confrontational graphic nature, address cultural representations of power, identity and sexuality in the most charged of visual languages.
Kruger’s work has appeared in museums and galleries, on billboards, buscards, posters, a public park, a train station platform in Strasbourg, France, and in other public commissions.
She has taught at CalArts, The Art Institute of Chicago, UC Berkeley and is currently teaching at UC San Diego.
