David St. John, a professor of English at USC and the author of several books of poetry including "Prism" and "The Red Leaves of Night," examines the concept of creativity in science, art, philosophy, and religion.

St. John is the recipient of the O. B. Hardison Prize in Poetry (The Folger Shakespeare Library 2001), an Academy Award in Poetry (American Academy of Arts and Letters 2000), three NEA fellowships and a Guggenheim Fellowship.

A reception immediately follows the discussion.
