Sixteen, life-size "floating machines," designed and constructed entirely of paper by teams of 2nd year architecture students compete in the 9th annual relay races.
The boats, or "floating machines," are the result of a two week design project. The devices are required to remain afloat during at least two relay races with two people aboard and to travel a minimum of 55 yards through the water propelled by no more than two oars.
Prizes will be awarded for most innovative, best craftsmanship, most sustainable design, best concept, best project book and best performance.
