STUDENTS - SOMERVILLE PLACE SUPPLEMENTAL APPLICATION
FALL 2008 ADMITTED STUDENTS
Welcome to the Trojan Family!
The Center for Black Cultural and Student Affairs (CBCSA) would like to congratulate you on your admission to the University of Southern California. CBCSA provides a wide range of support services, programs and activities aimed at the development of African-American students. CBCSA is committed to creating an environment that encourages the intellectual, professional, and cultural growth of African-American students entering and completing degree programs at USC.
As the time draws near and you are faced with one of the most important decisions of your life, we sincerely hope that you will consider the resources that each school has to offer. One of the resources available to you here at USC is Somerville Place, USC’s African-American residential theme floor. It has been our experience that first year African-American students tend to transition to university life easier, while living at Somerville Place. Throughout its history, Somerville Place residents have been known to excel academically and emerge as campus leaders. In addition, Somerville Place has gained national recognition by being featured in the Los Angeles Times newspaper on March 26, 2000. CBCSA would like you to consider Somerville Place as your freshman residence, and personally invite you to apply.
Please refer to page 16 in the “Living at USC 2008-2009”
Housing Brochure for a detailed description.
The supplemental application priority deadline is
Friday, May 2, 2008
However, we are accepting applications until the floor is filled
