USC Curriculum Management System
Welcome to the New USC Curriculum Management System!
The Curriculum Management System (CMS) is a single, cohesive on-line interface that allows courses to be proposed, created, assessed, revised, approved and implemented. Proposals for programs (degrees, minors, overseas) will continue to be handled via e-mail, as they have in recent years, but will be integrated into the CMS in 2010.
Everyone who is involved with curriculum management at USC in a hands-on way will use the new CMS – which will simplify and clarify the process of managing the thousands of courses that USC offers. It is virtually paperless and will facilitate communication between the Curriculum Coordination Office and Academic Departments.

Documentation
Documentation has been developed to help you use the new Curriculum Management System. Click here for the CMS "What You Need to Know" One-Sheet. For a more detailed explanation of how the CMS works, click here for the full CMS User Documentation.
User Support
The Curriculum Department in the Registrar’s Office will provide user support for the CMS – including helping you to access the system. Call them at (213) 740-1162 or e-mail them at curriclm@usc.edu if you need assistance.
Training
Training on how to use the new CMS will be provided by the Curriculum Coordination Office when the new system is implemented, and as needed after that. If you need training, contact us to find out when the next class will be offered.
Requesting Access to the CMS
If you need access to the Curriculum Management System, you’ll need to give the Curriculum Coordination Office your directory information, department and which roles that you will be taking on the CMS. They will make sure that you have the access you need to fulfill your curriculum functions. NOTE: Those who have attended (or have RSVP'd for future training sessions) have already been given access to CMS.
To request CMS Access, e-mail the following information to the Curriculum Coordination Office at curriclm@usc.edu:
User Information

USC E-mail Address
USC Phone Number and Office Address (Building and Room #)
10-digit USC ID #

Faculty Proposer – a faculty member who submits course proposals on the CMS
Departmental Curriculum Coordinator (DCC) – a staff member who submits course proposals on the CMS

Logging in to the CMS
Your UserID and password for the CMS will be the same as your username and password for all major USC systems (such as MyUSC). Your username will be the prefix for your e-mail. For example, if your e-mail address is tommytro@usc.edu, your username would be tommytro.
If you are having trouble with your UserID and/or password, call Information Technology Services at (213) 740-5555 to have your password reset.
How the CMS Works
Every time you log in to the CMS, you will be able to:
- select the role that you are “playing” that day to do what you need to do
- see the courses that you are working with in your folders
- track courses from your school that are in progress anywhere in the CMS
The new CMS allows the Curriculum Coordination Office in the Office of Academic Records and Registrar to assess and process proposals created by the academic departments, and communicate with the academic departments throughout the implementation process. Faculty and staff from departments and schools may view the progress of their proposals at all times, from start to finish.
