USC Department of Transcripts
General Information
The Transcript Department maintains academic transcripts for course work for university approved credit.* The Transcript Department releases academic record transcripts in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Transcripts can be ordered in-person, by mail, or on the web.
- MEDICAL SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS - All medical school records are housed and maintained independently of the University's central transcript system. To obtain transcripts for medical students, contact the USC Keck School of Medicine directly at (323) 442-2553.
- DENTAL SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS - Prior to Fall 1993, for the Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) program, Summer 1992 for the International Student Program (ISP), and Fall 2000 for the Dental Hygiene Program, dental student records are maintained by the Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. To obtain transcripts for this earlier academic record information, please contact the Ostrow School of Dentistry directly at (213) 740-1001.
- CONTINUING EDUCATION (CEU) TRANSCRIPTS - To obtain transcripts for CEU students, please mail your request to the University of Southern California's Registration Department, University Park Campus, 601 Exposition Blvd., REG 101 Los Angeles, CA 90089-0912.
Written requests for transcripts must by signed by the owner of the record. Students must clear holds on their records before the Transcript Department will process a request. Current and recently enrolled students may check for holds on OASIS.
Documents Released by the Transcript Department:
Official Transcript- An academic transcript is an official document which provides a complete and permanent record of course work, grades, units, program of study, enrollment history and degrees awarded and is signed by the University Registrar.
Academic Record Summary (replaces the previously issued Unofficial Transcript)- The academic record summary is a detailed listing of completed course work, grades, enrollment history, program of study history, as well as academic exceptions both approved and denied and revision to the record with reasons. The academic record summary is used within the university for advisement purposes but is not released externally.
Fees for Transcripts:
Official Transcripts- $10.00 per transcript.
Academic Record Summary (formerly known as the Unofficial Transcript)- $5.00 per document. The academic record summary may be picked up in-person. Mailed academic record summaries will be sent to the student's address only.
Methods of payment:
Personal checks (payable to the "University of Southern California"), U.S. money orders, USCard, and the following credit cards: VISA, MasterCard, and Discover. Cash is not accepted.
Special handling services: Please submit requests by 3:00 p.m. PST.
Same day rush- $7.00 per destination, plus the document fee.
Students may request to pick up official transcripts and academic record summaries at the REG lobby at no additional charge.
Additional special handling services:
Overnight Express is $18.00 per destination, plus transcript fee.
You may request this service for overnight delivery within the continental United States only.
Express Mail is $40.00 per destination, plus transcript fee.
You may request this service for express delivery outside the continental United States only.
