Each team will prepare and deliver a set of WWW-based Final Project
materials. Each project will provide materials (1 WWW page or
file per item, unless otherwise indicated)
that document each of the following:
- Project Home Page: Identifies project team name, team
members
(name, graphic picture (optional), link to member's home page, link
to member's resume) "index frame" of links to following WWW pages.
- Site Map: a hierarchical structure ("table of contents")
identifying the name
and link (via URL) locating each WWW page in your project
- Project description: Who (team id), what, where, when,
how, and why
- Inter-Project Effort: describes how your team provided
services or content for other teams (identify each team).
- Project Content: Index frame or WWW page with links to
the following:
- Description of commercial products used in project:
(one page per
product used). Also, be sure to specify whether each tool (or plug-in,
Java applet, other program, etc.) is required to run with
a WWW server, a WWW browser, or as a separate "helper applications".
- Description of commercial products reviewed:
(from "extra credit"
contributions--one page per product reviewed at InternetWorld '97)
- Use of course concepts: description of major topics
addressed
in your project linked to the corresponding course lecture notes
on WWW: (e.g.,
Our project sought to provide innovative
Collaborative Information Services as a major focus of our
effort. We believe synchronous communication
services might be essential to the Marshall School of
Business in the 21st. Century in the following ways...MUDs and
Chat technologies could be used for....as we have demonstrated in
our project...
- Influential WWW sites: short description of each WWW
site
team members' browsed one or more times, to help develop concepts,
or content for your project.
- Guided tour of your project: a set of embedded links
that a user could follow to observe or read what your project does.
- Project How To guide: a "demonstration"
or "manual" that briefly explains how to see your project live.
- How to evolve and scale-up your project: describes
your thoughts on what steps to take or what's needed
(e.g., acquire more network bandwidth through
acquisition of switched Ethernets, migrate to commercial ISPs,
expand the content by adding ..., etc.) to make your project
suitable for routine production use by USC Marshall School of Business.
- Extra Credit: Provide a
Project 1 Case Analysis for your project.
All Final Project materials must be transferred and installed
on the IOM540 WWW directory for interactive presentation on
.
Gautam Aggarwal will provide project transfer assistance if needed.
Each team must present their Final Project in class on 1 May 1997.
Each student will also participate in a examination and
review of each other teams' Final Project presentation.
A printed copy of your Final Project materials, and any updates to
your Final Project transferred onto the IOM540 directory,
should be submitted
