USC Benefits

Welcome to the USC Benefits website

We have a new look

You'll find everything you need here to select, access and fully utilize your USC benefits. At left, you can watch a brief video introduction to the various types of benefits available.

USC has a new long term care insurance program, and you can enroll online.

Getting Started

Everything you need to know to enroll in USC benefits, including all about orientation, how to keep your benefits intact as you move from one job to another, things you need to consider before declining benefits, and how to use eTrac, our employee self-serve system that allows you to manage your benefits, check payroll information, and update personal information 24/7.

New employees are required to attend two orientation sessions, and everything you need to know about that is here.

Changing Your Benefits

Our helpful guide shows you what to do if you get married, or have a baby, or experience any other life event that may affect your benefits. If you haven't had any such status change, you can change your benefits during our annual open enrollment period, usually in November.

Most benefits relate to finances, of course, but USC offers a wide variety of benefits designed to improve your bottom line, including flexible spending accounts, campus-based banking options, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and other insurance products.

Education

Tuition assistance…

Working at a world-class private research university should mean outstanding educational benefits—and at USC, it does.

Quality of Life

Enriching and balancing...

USC's mission involves the development of the whole person through the cultivation and enrichment of the human mind and spirit, and we offer a whole host of benefits to enrich not only your work life but your personal and family life, as well—including USC's groundbreaking Center for Work and Family Life, quality child care centers, and unique opportunities involving university communities and housing.

Every page on our site is designed to be easily printable. When you use your browser's print function, you will get a clean text version of all the information on the page.

Who's Eligible for What

Benefits on this page apply to full-time staff and faculty. Except for the "Education" section, they also apply to part-time staff, postdoctoral research associates, postdoctoral teaching fellows, and faculty with 50–99% appointment.

Faculty with less than 50% appointment are eligible for certain components of the USC Retirement Savings Program, as well as government-mandated programs like disability, paid family leave, workers' compensation, unemployment and Social Security.
