New graduate students are invited to participate in special orientation programs
designed to welcome you to the community of scholars at USC. The day-long
Graduate Student Workshops will introduce
you to campus services and resources, provide a review of financial matters and
explain how best to work with your Ph.D. faculty mentor. Your school or department
may offer a separate orientation program, geared to the specific concerns of your
field of study.
International students, please note: You are required to participate in the two-day
International Student Orientation, designed to
provide important information about programs and services offered by the university,
and to help you adjust to life in Los Angeles.
The Graduate School aspires to establish USC as the research university in the United
States with the greatest percentage of women and American Ph.D. students of color.
