Because
of this political intervention and consequent hiatus, an important (perhaps
the most important) chapter is still lacking in the standard history of modern
dance. In order to try and reinstate this missing link the PDP aims to assemble
a group of outstanding contemporary dancers and a team of internationally
acclaimed scholars representing the humanistic disciplines that relate directly
to the development of modern dance (and ballet) in Russia, Europe, America,
and Japan. Apart from the dance troupe (see separate page "Performance"),
