Research  Biogeochemical roles of virus infection in the ocean, from elemental cycling to impact nutrient release has upon bacterial community structure. Dissertation project is examining how virus infection may benefit submicon non-cyanobacterial diazotrophs. Ecology of bacterioplankton on both small (estuaties) and large (cross-gyre and global).
